India Achieves 39 Medals at 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow
India finished the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a total of 39 medals, comprising 13 gold, 17 silver, and 9 bronze. This tally fell short of the 50 medals achieved in previous Games since 2002.
The Indian contingent, which included 122 athletes, did not add to its medal count on the final day. Highlights of the Games included Mirabai Chanu winning her third consecutive gold in weightlifting and Tejaswin Shankar securing a historic decathlon medal. Overall, 38 athletes returned with medals, with a notable performance in boxing, where India won 10 medals.
Despite a lower medal count compared to the 61 medals won in Birmingham in 2022, the percentage of medal winners was slightly higher in Glasgow, with around 31% of the contingent achieving podium finishes. The Games also marked India's best performance in para sports.
