India Announces Asia Cup 2026 Squad, Excluding Yastika Bhatia
India has revealed its squad for the Asia Cup 2026, featuring mostly the same players as before, but once again excluding Yastika Bhatia despite her recent century in the Lord's Test. The selectors have opted to retain 18-year-old wicketkeeper-batter G Kamalini.
The only modification from the previous squad is the absence of Shreyanka Patil, who is still recovering from an ankle ligament injury sustained during the T20 World Cup. Prema Rawat, a leg-spin bowling all-rounder, has kept her position in the squad after stepping in for Shreyanka during the World Cup.
The Asia Cup is anticipated to take place from late August to mid-September, although the exact schedule has not yet been confirmed. Following the Asia Cup, the Asian Games will occur in Japan from September 17 to 22.
