India Gains Key Players Ahead of T20I Series Against Afghanistan
India's cricket team is poised for a significant enhancement as they prepare for the T20I series against Afghanistan, which begins on September 13 in Delhi. All-rounders Hardik Pandya and Nitish Kumar Reddy are fit and ready for selection, while Washington Sundar is nearing the necessary fitness clearances.
Both Pandya and Reddy have been training diligently at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, maintaining full capacity in their preparations for their return to international play. Sundar, who spent the weekend in Chennai, is expected to report back to the Centre this week to confirm his fitness status. The men's senior selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, is anticipated to convene this week to finalize the squad for the upcoming matches.
Attention is also focused on Jasprit Bumrah, who has been recovering from a knee injury. Although his participation in the Afghanistan T20Is is uncertain, he is making progress and is expected to be available for the Asian Games if his rehabilitation continues without setbacks.
