India Secures Seven Boxing Golds at CWG 2026
At the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow, India achieved a remarkable feat by winning seven gold medals in boxing. Preeti Pawar set the tone for the team by clinching gold in the women's 54kg category, defeating Canada's Scarlett Delgado with a unanimous 5-0 decision.
Following Pawar's victory, four other Indian boxers—Jaismine Lamboria, Sakshi Chaudhary, Priya Ghanghas, and Arundhati Choudhary—also secured gold medals in their respective finals. However, Jadumani Singh earned a silver medal in the men's 55kg final, and Lovlina Borgohain faced disappointment, losing her final in the women's 75kg category.
Pawar, who previously competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics and won gold at the World Cup Finals, expressed confidence in her performance, knowing it would impact her teammates. The Indian boxing team showcased strong performances throughout the event, culminating in a total of seven golds.
