Indian Athletes Prepare for Asian Games at World Athletics Meet
On August 21, 2026, Bhubaneswar will host the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver meet at Kalinga Stadium, featuring elite international athletes competing for a total prize of $75,000.
The event will showcase top-ranked competitors such as Nigeria’s Chukwuebuka Enekwechi and Jamaica’s Samantha Hall, while 88 Indian athletes, including notable figures like Murali Sreeshankar and Yashvir Singh, will also participate among a total of 187 athletes from 26 countries.
However, several prominent Indian athletes, including Neeraj Chopra and Gulveer Singh, will not attend for various reasons. The meet, which offers significant exposure ahead of the Asian Games, will feature competitive fields in events like javelin and long jump, with many participants achieving impressive season-best marks.
