
Indian Judokas to Train at Tsukuba University Ahead of Major Competitions
Indian judokas preparing for the Asian Games and World Championships will attend an exposure camp at Tsukuba University in Japan from September 5 to October 2.
The Sports Authority of India has sanctioned the camp for a total of 11 judokas, which includes 10 women and three coaches. Notable participants include Commonwealth Games champion Asmita Dey in the 48kg category, Yamini Mourya in the 57kg category, and Inunganbi Takhellambam in the 70kg category, who will compete at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.
For the World Championships, which will begin on October 4 in Baku, Azerbaijan, the Indian squad features Harsh Singh, the Commonwealth Games men's 60kg champion, as the only male judoka representing India. The women's team includes several competitors across various weight categories.
