Indiana Hoosiers Dominate North Texas in Season Opener

The Indiana Hoosiers began their season with a commanding 52-16 victory against the North Texas Mean Green on Saturday, demonstrating that last year's championship success did not affect their focus.

As the defending national champions and ranked No. 6 in the Associated Press preseason poll, Indiana achieved its largest Week 1 win under coach Cignetti. The 36-point margin marked the biggest opening win since 2013.

New quarterback Josh Hoover, who took over after the departure of Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza, excelled in his debut, completing 13 of 16 passes for 231 yards and four touchdowns. The Hoosiers' offense scored on seven of nine drives, while the defense contributed with seven tackles for loss and an interception.
