Indianapolis Colts Dismiss General Manager Chris Ballard
The Indianapolis Colts have announced the firing of Chris Ballard from his position as general manager. Ballard, who had been with the team since 2017, oversaw a period where the Colts made the playoffs twice but only won one playoff game.
The decision comes after the Colts fell to a 2-4 record for the 2026 season, following a 26-20 loss at home to the Tennessee Titans, who had previously not won a game. Fans had expressed their dissatisfaction with Ballard, leading to this decision by Colts Owner & CEO Carlie Irsay-Gordon.
Irsay-Gordon acknowledged Ballard's contributions to the team but stated that a change in leadership was necessary to meet the organization's championship aspirations. She confirmed that the Colts would begin a thorough search for a new general manager while maintaining their competitive goals for the current season.
