Indianapolis Colts Release Darius Slayton After Short Stint
The Indianapolis Colts have parted ways with wide receiver Darius Slayton, just one month after he joined the team. Initially signed on September 22, Slayton was expected to enhance the Colts' wide receiver depth amid injury concerns.
Despite the optimism surrounding his signing, Slayton did not play a single snap for the Colts. His release comes as a surprise, especially considering his previous performance in the NFL, where he consistently recorded over 500 receiving yards each season, except for one. The Colts are now looking to other players, including Josh Downs and Tyler Warren, to fill key roles in their passing game while Alec Pierce is on injured reserve.
This decision marks a significant shift for the Colts, who had hoped Slayton would provide valuable experience to their receiving corps.
