INDYCAR Season Finale Set for Laguna Seca with Title and Driver Changes
The 2026 INDYCAR season will conclude at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California, a venue that has hosted the series for the past five years. The race is scheduled for Sunday, with FOX coverage starting at 2:30 p.m. ET.
Alex Palou has secured his fifth championship title, while the battle for second place remains intense. Pato O'Ward is aiming to finish the season strong, currently trailing Christian Lundgaard and Kyle Kirkwood in points. O'Ward recently achieved a doubleheader sweep at The Milwaukee Mile, boosting his chances for a higher finish.
Several drivers are set to change teams for the 2027 season, including Scott Dixon, who will leave Chip Ganassi Racing after a long tenure. The corkscrew at Laguna Seca will be renamed in honor of Alex Zanardi, a two-time champion who passed away earlier this year. Palou will race with a special paint scheme to pay tribute to Zanardi.
