Injuries Sideline Key Players for India's Sri Lanka Test Series
India's cricket team will enter a two-Test series against Sri Lanka without several players sidelined by injuries, including left-handed batter Sai Sudharsan, who was recently ruled out.
Sudharsan sustained a toe injury during the India A tour of Sri Lanka last month, where he had impressive performances, scoring two centuries in two matches. He has been undergoing rehabilitation in Bengaluru. Other players unavailable for the series include Jasprit Bumrah, Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Washington Sundar.
Bumrah's absence is due to a left knee issue sustained during a recent ODI against England. Rana is recovering from a hamstring injury, while Reddy is dealing with a quadriceps injury. Sundar has been ruled out of the first Test due to a hamstring injury. Additionally, captain Shubman Gill is facing a fitness concern after injuring his finger during practice.
