
Inquest Reveals Cause of Death for Huyton Crash Victims
An inquest has revealed that four young men who died in a car crash in Huyton last month succumbed to multiple injuries. The incident occurred on July 24 when their vehicle collided with a lamp-post on East Prescot Road.
The victims, identified as Craig Shackleton-Brady, 26; Andrew Roberts, 24; and 23-year-olds Jack Diggle and Benjamin Dooley, were confirmed through dental records and clothing seen on CCTV. The inquest, held at Bootle Town Hall, was suspended by Senior Coroner Anita Bhardwaj until the conclusion of related criminal proceedings.
Of the five occupants in the car, four died at the scene shortly after the crash, which took place at 01:54 BST. The sole survivor, 27-year-old James Diggle, has been charged with four counts of aiding and abetting causing death by dangerous driving and is awaiting a court appearance.
