Investigation into Pregnant Ex-Soccer Star's Death May Take Months

Kayla Saager-Beckley, a 30-year-old pregnant former Division I soccer player, passed away unexpectedly in Tulsa, Oklahoma, shortly after a workout. Investigators have indicated that it may take three to six months to determine the official cause of her death, according to the Tulsa County Medical Examiner's Office.

Saager-Beckley, who was a former player at Binghamton University, collapsed just ten minutes after exercising. She was married to John Beckley, a coach at Tulsa University, and was expecting their first child, a daughter named Sawyer. The news of her death was shared by Tulsa's head coach, who expressed the team's grief and announced plans to honor her memory with special helmet stickers during their next game.

Binghamton University also acknowledged her passing, highlighting her achievements as a player, including scoring 22 goals and being named a two-time all-region player. Saager-Beckley served as team captain and was recognized as the America East Striker of the Year in 2017.
