Investigation Launched as Athletes from Pakistan and Uganda Go Missing in Glasgow

Scottish police are currently investigating the disappearance of multiple athletes from Pakistan and Uganda after the conclusion of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Reports indicate that these athletes did not return home following the event, which ended last Sunday.

According to a police spokesperson, they have received reports of several athletes who are unaccounted for, and inquiries are underway to understand the situation better. Notably, four out of six Ugandan boxers were reported missing just before their scheduled flight home, with one athlete expressing intentions to seek asylum. Additionally, a Pakistani boxer named Qudratullah was last seen in his hotel room hours before the team's departure.

The Pakistani team was set to gather in the hotel lobby before heading to the airport, but Qudratullah's absence was noted when officials checked his room and found him missing. His passport and return ticket remained with the team manager. This incident follows a pattern observed in previous Commonwealth Games, where athletes have gone missing, with many seeking asylum.
