Iran Issues Warning to Gulf States Amid U.S. Tensions

On August 6, Iran communicated a serious warning to Gulf states, stating that it would strike their oil, power, and water facilities unless they convinced the U.S. to cease military actions against Iran and pursue negotiations instead.

This warning included potential attacks on critical infrastructure such as oil fields, refineries, and electricity grids, as part of Iran's strategy to deter further U.S. military engagement following threats made by President Trump on July 28.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi engaged in discussions with officials from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Qatar, and Pakistan, urging them to influence Trump to avoid escalating tensions. The message conveyed was that any U.S. attack would lead to retaliation against Gulf assets. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman subsequently urged Trump to seek diplomatic solutions, reflecting a broader regional concern about the potential for conflict.
