Irish Football Association Withdraws Support for Gianni Infantino

This announcement follows Infantino's controversial proposal to sell a 21% stake in Fifa's commercial operations to a private investment firm, which faced significant backlash and was ultimately abandoned after Uefa threatened to boycott Fifa competitions.

The IFA, which governs football in Northern Ireland, stated that Infantino's actions raised serious concerns regarding the strategy and governance of Fifa. Other football associations from England, Scotland, Wales, and the Republic of Ireland have also previously retracted their support for Infantino, who is set to run for a fourth term in March.
