Isaiah Stewart to Miss Two Weeks with Ankle Injury
Isaiah Stewart, a center/forward for the Memphis Grizzlies, will be sidelined for a minimum of two weeks following a moderate left ankle sprain he incurred during the first quarter of a preseason game in Atlanta on Monday.
As a result of this injury, Stewart will miss the remainder of the preseason and the team's regular season opener on October 21. He is scheduled to be reevaluated in two weeks, which coincides with the Grizzlies' second game on October 23.
Stewart, who joined the Grizzlies from the Pistons in July as part of a six-team trade, averaged 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks in 58 games last season. His absence may lead to increased playing time for other frontcourt players on the roster, including Cameron Boozer and Zach Edey.
