Islam Makhachev Plans Three More UFC Fights
Islam Makhachev has indicated that he plans to fight at least three more times in the UFC before retiring from mixed martial arts. The 34-year-old, who holds titles in two divisions, has set multiple records in the lightweight category, including the most title wins and defenses, as well as the longest win streak at 17.
Makhachev's most recent victory was a unanimous decision against Ian Machado Garry at UFC 330. He acknowledged the presence of strong contenders in his division and expressed anticipation for challenging fights ahead.
Carlos Prates is currently viewed as the leading candidate for Makhachev's next title defense, a matchup that Makhachev has deemed warranted. Prates has stated that the UFC has indicated to him that he is next in line, and he is advocating for the fight to headline the UFC event scheduled for November 14 at Madison Square Garden, although no official announcement has been made yet.
