Islam Makhachev recently defended his welterweight title for the first time at UFC 330 in Philadelphia, winning by unanimous decision against Ian Machado Garry. This victory allowed Makhachev to break Anderson Silva’s long-standing record for the most consecutive wins in UFC history.

Following the fight, Max Holloway expressed confusion over Makhachev's celebration with two belts, questioning the necessity of holding both after defending only one title. Makhachev responded to Holloway's remarks on Instagram, indicating that he finds it challenging to hold both belts and suggesting that Holloway does not understand the situation.

While a matchup between Makhachev and Holloway seems unlikely at this point, Holloway may face one of Makhachev's teammates, Magomed Zaynukov, or potentially Usman Nurmagomedov, who is expected to join the UFC soon.
