Islam Makhachev's Coach Discusses Conditions for Next UFC Fight

Javier Mendez has stated that the UFC must provide Islam Makhachev with advance notice for his upcoming fight. Makhachev, who recently defended his welterweight title, acknowledged that he has areas to improve following his victory.

After breaking the record for consecutive UFC wins, Makhachev expressed a desire to compete again in December or January, aiming to avoid delays before his next match. He plans to refrain from training during Ramadan, which occurs from February 7 to March 8.

Mendez emphasized that if the UFC intends to schedule Makhachev's fight for late December or January, they need to inform him well in advance to accommodate his two-month training camp requirement. Makhachev recently emerged from UFC 330 with minor injuries, having been cleared by a doctor despite a brief medical suspension due to a rib contusion.
