Italo Ferreira Regains Championship Tour Lead After Tahiti Pro

Italo Ferreira has regained the top position in the Championship Tour after competing in the Tahiti Pro, where he defeated rookie Luke Thompson. This shift in rankings follows Leo Fioravanti's early exit from the event, where he faced his friend Ramzi Boukhiam.

Fioravanti had recently taken the lead with a strong performance at the Rio Pro, but his match against Boukhiam proved challenging. Despite Boukhiam's lower overall ranking this season, he showcased his skills at Teahupo’o, achieving a heat total of 15.67, which surpassed Fioravanti's 13.50.

Ferreira, who previously led the rankings before the Rio Pro, is now set to maintain his lead heading into the next event in Fiji, regardless of his performance in round three. He will face Connor O’Leary in that round. Ferreira is currently dealing with a rib injury sustained prior to the event.
