Ivan Toney Charged with Assault, Court Appearance Scheduled

England striker Ivan Toney has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm following an incident at a London nightclub in December. He is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on September 24.

Toney, currently playing for Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli, was involved in an altercation on Wardour Street in Soho. A spokesperson for Toney stated that he acknowledges the charge and is looking forward to the opportunity to clear his name in court.

Previously, Toney was part of England's World Cup squad, where he played in the third-place playoff against France and made a brief appearance in the semi-final against Argentina. He joined Al-Ahli in 2024 after a successful tenure at Brentford, where he scored 67 goals in 128 matches.
