Ivan Toney's Assault Trial Scheduled for June 2028
England striker Ivan Toney has entered a not guilty plea to a charge of assault occasioning bodily harm, with his trial scheduled for June 12, 2028. The incident in question occurred at a nightclub in Wardour Street, London, on December 6, 2025.
Toney appeared at Southwark Crown Court where Judge Christopher Hehir acknowledged the lengthy wait for the trial due to a backlog in the crown courts. The allegations involve Toney headbutting and punching Saber Da Silva during a confrontation at the club.
Following the brief hearing, Toney was released on unconditional bail. The charge against him was announced after a Metropolitan Police investigation that began in late July. Toney has represented England in international matches, including the recent World Cup, but was not selected for the latest Nations League squad.
