Jack Draper to Sit Out Remainder of Season, Aiming for 2024 Return

Jack Draper, a former world number four, has announced that he will not participate in any further matches this season, with intentions to return to the tennis tour at the start of 2024.

The 24-year-old has been dealing with bone bruising in his serving arm, limiting him to just nine events since last year's Wimbledon. He missed the US Open and faced early exits in Montreal and Cincinnati, where he expressed his emotional struggles during a recent defeat.

Draper is currently ranked 155 and will not qualify for a protected ranking upon his return, as that status is reserved for players sidelined for over six months. He is focusing on recovery and has made adjustments to his equipment and training regimen, including experimenting with different strings and a lighter racquet. His coaching team, including Andy Murray, is also adapting to support his return.
