Jack Kayil Signs with ALBA Berlin as Knicks Draft-and-Stash Prospect
Jack Kayil, selected 39th overall in this year's NBA Draft by the New York Knicks, has signed a five-year contract with ALBA Berlin, transitioning into a draft-and-stash role.
The German club confirmed the signing, which follows Kayil's previous season spent on loan at ALBA Berlin from Mega Basket in Serbia. Although there was speculation about his future in the NBA, Kayil's contract with ALBA ensures he will continue his career in Europe for now.
ALBA Berlin has reportedly paid a buyout fee to Mega Basket to secure Kayil's rights in Europe, while the Knicks will maintain his NBA rights. Kayil had a successful season, averaging 12.4 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.9 rebounds per game, and was recognized as the Best Young Player in the Basketball Bundesliga.
