Jack Martin Open to Joining a Fourth AFL Club Amid Geelong Forward Line Changes
Jack Martin, a forward for Geelong, is contemplating a transfer to a fourth AFL club even though he has one year remaining on his contract.
His position in the team has become precarious, particularly after missing the AFL finals series and with the arrival of free agent Toby Greene, which has further crowded the forward line. Coach Chris Scott appears to prefer other players like Ollie Henry, Jay Polkinghorne, and Patrick Dangerfield for forward roles.
Martin, who has connections to Western Australia, was originally drafted by Gold Coast from Claremont in the WAFL. With Fremantle potentially looking for new players following Sam Switkowski's retirement and West Coast seeking experienced options, Martin's future could see him moving to one of these clubs. He has played 182 games across Gold Coast, Carlton, and Geelong since entering the AFL in 2014, although injuries have impacted his consistency on the field.
