Jackson Jobe Shines in MLB Return After Surgery

Jackson Jobe, a right-hander for the Detroit Tigers, made a notable return to Major League Baseball in San Francisco after over 14 months away due to Tommy John surgery.

In his first game back, Jobe struck out four batters and limited the San Francisco Giants to just one hit over five shutout innings, contributing to an 8-0 victory for the Tigers. He showcased his strength by throwing a 100-m.p.h. fastball and only allowed one walk during the outing.

Jobe, who was the Tigers' first-round pick in 2021, had previously made four rehab starts in the minors. Following his performance, he expressed satisfaction with his progress and noted improvements in his physical and mental game. Detroit's manager, A.J. Hinch, praised Jobe's outing as nearly perfect, highlighting the significance of his return to the major leagues.
