Jacob Abel Returns to Indy NXT with Abel Motorsports for Portland Grand Prix

Jacob Abel, the 2024 Indy NXT by Firestone Vice Champion, is set to return to the series, taking the wheel of the #48 Dallara for Round 14 at Portland International Raceway. This announcement comes after Jordan Missig's withdrawal from the remainder of the season due to a crash at Nashville Superspeedway.

This race will be Abel's first in the Indy NXT series since the season finale in Nashville. The 25-year-old driver from Kentucky is returning to a familiar team, where he has previously shown strong performance throughout his career.

Portland International Raceway is significant for Abel, as it was the site of his last victory in the series. With a solid record that includes three race wins and 14 podium finishes, Abel aims to leverage his experience and past success to compete effectively this weekend. Official practice sessions will begin on Friday, followed by qualifying and the main event on Saturday.
