Jacob Edwards Aims for AFL Comeback After Delisting
Jacob Edwards, a former ruckman for North Melbourne, is looking to restart his AFL career after being delisted at the end of 2023. He was originally drafted by the Kangaroos with the first pick in the 2021 Mid-Season Draft, following his omission from the 2020 National Draft.
Standing at 202cm, Edwards played as a ruck-forward for the Sandringham Dragons in the Talent League but never made his AFL debut. After his delisting, he returned to local football, signing with Cheltenham in the Southern Football Netball League, where he participated in three grand finals and won two championships.
Edwards expressed a renewed ambition to return to the AFL, stating that his recent experiences have reignited his passion for the game. He aims to start in the VFL and hopes to leverage his maturity and experience gained from playing against older competitors.
