Jacob Misiorowski Sets Record for Fastest Pitch in World Series History
Jacob Misiorowski made history by throwing the fastest pitch in World Series history, clocking in at 103.5 mph during his first pitch of the Fall Classic against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday night.
This record-breaking fastball surpassed the previous mark of 103.2 mph set by Aroldis Chapman in 2016. Misiorowski's pitch was initially recorded at 103.4 mph on stadium boards but confirmed at 103.5 mph by MLB's Statcast.
The 24-year-old right-hander, who debuted in June 2025, dominated the first inning by throwing fastballs on 11 of 13 pitches, averaging 101.9 mph. He previously set a record for the most pitches over 100 mph in a season, totaling 1,115, and reached a peak of 105.5 mph earlier this year.
