Jacob Szekely Discusses Injury at US Open
Jacob Szekely, also known as Zeke, appeared at the US Open this year using crutches and an orthopedic boot due to a recent injury. In a video, he detailed the incident that led to his condition, which occurred after a busy year of travel and filming.
After returning from the iForget airshow in Huntington Beach, Szekely decided to skate with friends. While at the skatepark, he fell during a trick, injuring his knee. Medical evaluation revealed a vertical fracture of his patella, but he received reassuring news that he would only need to wear a brace for four weeks. Following this period, he plans to begin physical therapy and aims to return to surfing within 8 to 12 weeks.
As a result of his injury, Szekely anticipates a reduction in his content creation, particularly activities that involve surfing. He expressed a positive outlook, viewing the injury as an opportunity to focus on personal growth and other responsibilities.
