Jacob ‘Zeke’ Szekely Parts Ways with Rusty Surfboards

Pro surfer Jacob ‘Zeke’ Szekely has officially parted ways with Rusty Surfboards, as announced by the brand in a press release. The separation is effective immediately, with Rusty thanking Szekely for his contributions as a team rider.

The company did not provide specific reasons for the split, but Jen Preisendorfer, Rusty’s Global Managing Director, mentioned that the overall direction and long-term goals of the brand did not align with Szekely's. Despite the separation, Szekely will continue to be associated with the Rusty apparel brand.

Szekely, who has been experimenting with boards from Sharp Eye, expressed no animosity towards Rusty, stating he values the brand and their past support. He has gained a significant following on social media and is known for his unconventional content style, which has sometimes led to controversy.
