Jacy Injured in Goal Celebration Mishap
Brazilian footballer Jacy Maranhao sustained an ankle injury during a goal celebration while playing for Coritiba against Chapecoense in the Brazilian top flight.
In the 41st minute, Jacy scored to put his team ahead 1-0, but while celebrating, he jumped over advertising boards and fell into a tunnel leading to the away team's dressing room. Although he managed to climb out, he was substituted shortly after half-time due to the injury.
Adding to the situation, the goal was later disallowed by VAR, although Coritiba went on to win the match 2-1. Jacy remarked on the incident, acknowledging that he got carried away with the celebration. This is not the first occurrence of such an incident at the Couto Pereira Stadium, as a similar event happened in 2014 involving another player.
