Jadeveon Clowney Returns to Houston Texans on One-Year Deal

Jadeveon Clowney has agreed to a one-year contract with the Houston Texans, returning to the team that selected him first overall in the 2014 NFL Draft. The deal is reportedly worth up to $8 million, according to an anonymous league source.

Clowney previously played five seasons with the Texans, earning three Pro Bowl selections before being traded to the Seattle Seahawks in 2019. Over the past seven seasons, he has played for six different teams, most recently the Dallas Cowboys, where he recorded 8.5 sacks in 2025.

At 33 years old, Clowney has accumulated a total of 66.5 sacks throughout his 12-year career. He had a notable performance last season, achieving a 19.1 percent pressure rate, ranking fourth among players with significant pass-rush snaps. Clowney will join a strong Texans pass rush alongside Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter.
