Jaguars Coach Liam Coen Indicates Starters May Play Against Panthers

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Coen announced that quarterback Trevor Lawrence might participate in the game against the Carolina Panthers on Friday night.

Coen mentioned that the team is aiming to have the starters play for a short period, emphasizing the need for more practice following their joint session with the Saints. He noted that the limited padded practice days before the regular season necessitate this decision.

In the preseason opener, Nick Mullens started but is currently dealing with an undisclosed injury that may affect his participation this week. Coen indicated that Mullens could return to practice by Wednesday if his condition improves, while also ensuring that other quarterbacks, Carter Bradley and Joey Aguilar, receive adequate practice time.
