Jaguars Release Nick Mullens Following Quinn Ewers Trade

The Jacksonville Jaguars are parting ways with quarterback Nick Mullens following the trade for Quinn Ewers. This decision comes as the team prepares to finalize its roster ahead of the deadline.

Mullens, who joined the Jaguars in March 2025 on a two-year contract, played in five games last season, completing three passes for a total of 19 yards. Prior to his time in Jacksonville, he spent three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, where he started three games in 2023.

Since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2017, Mullens has participated in 38 games, starting 20 of them across teams including San Francisco, Cleveland, Minnesota, and Jacksonville. The Jaguars currently have Trevor Lawrence, Ewers, Carter Bradley, and rookie Joey Aguilar on their quarterback roster as they approach the 53-player limit.
