Jaguars Trade for Guard Daniel Faalele from Giants
The Jacksonville Jaguars have made a trade to acquire guard Daniel Faalele from the New York Giants for an undisclosed late-round draft pick in 2027. This information was confirmed by a source familiar with the situation, who spoke anonymously as the deal is not yet finalized.
This acquisition comes as the Jaguars face challenges on their offensive line due to multiple injuries. Right guard Patrick Mekari is recovering from back surgery and may begin the season on short-term injured reserve, while starting right tackle Cole Van Lanen is on the physically unable to perform list. Several backups have also missed training camp time, although rookie Emmanuel Pregnon has returned to practice.
Faalele, 26, had been working with the second team during Giants training camp but lost his opportunity for a starting position after the team drafted Francis Mauigoa with the 10th overall pick. Previously, Faalele started all 17 games for the Ravens under coach John Harbaugh and has played a total of 71 NFL games since his debut in 2022.
