Jaguars Trade for Quarterback Quinn Ewers from Dolphins
The Jacksonville Jaguars have announced the acquisition of quarterback Quinn Ewers from the Miami Dolphins. The trade was confirmed on Saturday, with both teams also agreeing to swap late-round draft picks as part of the deal.
Quinn Ewers, 23, played in four games for the Dolphins last season, accumulating 622 passing yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions. Miami recorded a 1-3 record in those games. Ewers was drafted in the seventh round of the 2025 draft after a stint as the starting quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, where he competed against potential future first overall pick Arch Manning.
In Jacksonville, Ewers is expected to serve as a backup to starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
