Following the game, Lions coach Dan Campbell remarked on Gibbs' performance, indicating that while the workload was significant, there is still potential for Gibbs to achieve even more. Campbell noted that Gibbs' longest run was 21 yards, suggesting he is capable of longer runs with slight improvements in blocking and execution.

Campbell clarified that while he appreciates Gibbs' contributions, he does not intend to have him carry the ball 29 times each game throughout the season, as that would lead to an unsustainable number of carries. He acknowledged Gibbs' excellent conditioning and performance during training camp, indicating confidence in his ability to handle the workload.
