Jakob Ingebrigtsen Withdraws from 1500m Final at World Athletics Ultimate Championship
Jakob Ingebrigtsen will not participate in the men's 1500m final at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship, postponing his anticipated race against rival Josh Kerr.
The two-time Olympic gold medalist recently won the men's 5,000m final at the event but has chosen to withdraw from the 1500m due to concerns about his recovery after an 11-month injury layoff that included Achilles surgery.
Ingebrigtsen expressed the need to prioritize his long-term fitness over immediate competition, aiming for a full recovery before future races. Despite his absence, the 1500m final will feature a strong lineup, including Olympic champion Cole Hocker and reigning world champion Isaac Nader.
