Jalen Hurts Admits Growing Apart from A.J. Brown

Jalen Hurts, the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, recognized that he and wide receiver A.J. Brown had drifted apart during the previous season. In an interview with GQ magazine, published on Tuesday, Hurts confirmed that their relationship was not as close as it had been.

The Eagles traded Brown to the New England Patriots in June, and since then, the two have not communicated, according to Brown. They did have a brief interaction after joint practices between their teams. Hurts and Brown initially connected during a recruiting trip at Alabama, and their bond deepened when they became teammates in Philadelphia, with Hurts serving as the godfather to Brown's daughter.

During his four seasons with the Eagles, Brown recorded 339 receptions for 5,034 yards and 32 touchdowns. However, he expressed frustration with his role and relationship with Hurts during the offseason in 2024, leading to the trade request that the Eagles ultimately honored.
