Jalen Hurts Expected to Miss Remainder of 2026 Season Due to Blood Clots
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is projected to miss the remainder of the 2026 season following tests that indicated blood clots had developed in both of his lungs.
A joint statement from Hurts and the team confirmed the diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary emboli. Although he is clinically stable and has no significant functional limitations, he is undergoing treatment with blood thinners, which prohibits him from participating in contact activities, including football.
The condition was initially detected after the Eagles' loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on October 11, when specialists in London identified a left calf superficial vein thrombosis. Further monitoring revealed the more serious condition. Hurts is expected to make a full recovery without long-term effects and will remain active with the team while conditioning.
