Jalen Hurts Faces Season-Ending Health Issues Due to Blood Clots
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is anticipated to miss the rest of the 2026 season following the discovery of blood clots in his lungs. This situation arose after he sustained a calf injury during a Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Hurts did not seek treatment for the calf injury until a few days later, and despite an ultrasound revealing a superficial blood clot, he was cleared to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. After the game, he returned to Philadelphia, where further testing revealed a diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis and blood clots in both lungs, leading to his current treatment with blood thinners.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni addressed the media regarding the circumstances surrounding Hurts' health, emphasizing the team's reliance on medical experts for decisions about player safety. While there are still unanswered questions about the situation, Hurts' agent has stated that his prognosis is positive, and he is expected to make a full recovery.
