Jalen Hurts Out for NFL Season Due to Health Issues
Jalen Hurts, the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, has been sidelined for the entire NFL season following a diagnosis of multiple blood clots in his lungs.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Hurts will undergo treatment for three months. Initial evaluations indicated a left calf superficial vein thrombosis, but further tests revealed a deep vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary emboli. Although he is clinically stable and has no significant functional limitations, he is prohibited from participating in any contact activities, including football.
The Eagles and Hurts' agent, Nicole Lynn, stated that his prognosis is positive, and a full recovery is expected. Hurts will remain engaged with the team and continue conditioning while on blood thinners, with hopes of returning to contact football activities in the future.
