Jalen Hurts to Miss NFL Season Due to Blood Clots
Jalen Hurts, the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, will not participate in the remainder of the NFL season due to blood clots in his lungs. Reports indicate that Hurts was hospitalized in London prior to a recent game.
His condition was initially identified as a left calf superficial vein thrombosis, but further diagnosis revealed deep vein thrombosis and bilateral pulmonary emboli. Treatment will require blood thinners, preventing him from engaging in contact activities. Despite this, his prognosis is positive, with expectations for a full recovery.
The Eagles' medical team, along with doctors in London, assessed Hurts' condition and determined he could safely play in a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he performed without limitations. Hurts previously led the Eagles to a Super Bowl victory in February 2025.
