Jalen Ramsey Returns to Practice, Advocates for Joey Porter

Jalen Ramsey, a defensive back for the Steelers, returned to practice for the first time during the 2026 training camp after coming off the Physically Unable to Perform list.

During a media session, Ramsey emphasized the need for the entire secondary to be present and called for the Steelers to pay Joey Porter, who is currently on the PUP list due to a contract holdout. Coach Mike McCarthy mentioned that negotiations with Porter, a second-round pick in 2023, have reached an impasse.

Porter faces a decision regarding whether to accept the Steelers' best offer for a multi-year deal, play the final year of his rookie contract for under $4 million, continue his holdout into the regular season, or seek a trade. The Steelers typically do not negotiate new contracts once the season starts.
