Jalen Suggs Suffers Injury During Magic's Game Against Knicks
Jalen Suggs of the Orlando Magic suffered a significant knee injury during the fourth quarter of a game against the New York Knicks on Sunday. As he attempted a layup, his right knee appeared to buckle, causing him to collapse on the court in visible pain.
Suggs was unable to leave the court unaided and received immediate attention from medical staff. This injury is particularly concerning as it was a non-contact incident. Following the game, Magic coach Sean Sweeney did not provide an update on Suggs' condition. The team is already dealing with the absence of Paolo Banchero, who is sidelined with a high-ankle sprain expected to keep him out for at least a month.
Over the past two years, Suggs has missed 62 games due to injuries, and he and teammate Franz Wagner missed a combined 73 games last season. The trio of Banchero, Wagner, and Suggs has only played together in 25 games over the last two seasons. The Magic had high hopes for this season, but with key players injured early on, their prospects appear bleak.
