Ja'Marr Chase Successfully Appeals Fines for Obscene Gesture
Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase has successfully appealed two fines imposed for making an obscene gesture during the team's Week 2 victory over the Texans.
The fines, amounting to $29,852, were related to a celebration Chase performed with teammate Tee Higgins, which he described as inspired by a wrestling move. Chase contended that he was not warned about any rule violations and argued that the interpretation of the gesture was incorrect.
Chase's appeal letter indicated that he believed the NFL was making assumptions about his intentions without proper discussion with the NFL Players Association. Tee Higgins also faced fines for similar reasons, but the outcome of his appeal remains unclear.
