James Maddison Scores Stunning Opener in First Tottenham Start in 18 Months

James Maddison made a significant impact in his first competitive start for Tottenham since May 2022, scoring a stunning opening goal against Coventry City.

The goal, which came just 14 minutes into the match, marked Tottenham's first lead in a Premier League game this season. Maddison's strike bent into the top-left corner from the edge of the area, showcasing his importance to the team after a lengthy injury absence.

Prior to this match, Maddison's last start was on May 1, 2022, in a Europa League match against Bodo/Glimt. A point from this game would help Tottenham move off the bottom of the table, while a win could lift them out of the relegation zone.
