Atlanta Falcons defensive end James Pearce Jr. will lose over $446,000 in salary following an eight-game suspension due to a conduct violation.

James Pearce Jr., a defensive end for the Atlanta Falcons, has been suspended for eight games by the NFL, resulting in a financial loss exceeding $446,000 in base salary. This suspension follows his arrest nearly six months ago related to a domestic dispute.

The NFL's decision, announced on Friday, also allows Atlanta to reclaim $982,528 of Pearce's signing bonus due to the conduct violation. Furthermore, the guarantee on his remaining contract worth $6.65 million through 2028 has been voided.

Pearce's suspension stems from an incident in February, after which he agreed to a six-month pretrial intervention program that could lead to dropped charges if completed. Despite the suspension, he is permitted to participate in preseason games and team activities until it officially begins on August 30, with a potential return by November 2 for a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
